The process begins with the scanning of your original. If possible, we would prefer to scan the original work directly, using our large format flatbed scanner. If the original is itself a photograph, if the piece of art is not available, or is of a massive size that it may not be easily transported, we will utilize our drum scanner to digitize from a large-format professional photographic transparency positive [chrome], or from a photographic print.

In either instance, we'll utilize a closed loop input calibration which will permit us to capture the fullest range of the available hues, saturation and values and best map them into the color space needed for the intended output.

If the image is to be reproduced as an IRIS giclee fine art print, we will convert the image to a custom print profile for the particular ink and substrate combination specified by the artist. The process continues with a series of proofs produced on the IRIS printer and the image is refined in consultation with the artist until final approval is acheived.
